A classic stone house featuring the stylings of chippendale, hepplewhite and sheraton furniture has added a punch of color thru window treatments, wallpapers and new upholstery. The owners who have a teenage duaghter wanted a bedroom design that would carry thru to her adult future. A home office and a downstairs formal bathroom was added to fit the couples lifestyle. The key to this project was finding multi-colored prints whose scale was large enough to carry the size of the rooms and create focal points.
Fresh start in Richmond KY! Sitting high on a hill with a lake view sits this soon to be completed project. My favorite Design project is when we start with blueprints before breaking ground with the clients. Jointly with clients our firm selected roof color, brick color, stone work, outdoor lighting, ect. This client likes a Country French Design with a bow to modern i.e. black windows. The inside is a continuation of Transitional & French. The key for these lay-outs is to work around her antique oriental rugs and infuse French & polished nickle furniture. Many of our projects are a combination of several styles blended together, it can be complicated, but possible! The best aspect, is this house captures their personalities! Tip from the Top – Remember black is a nuetral and can be used just like white. It is a great pop of color that compliments cabinets, woodwork and furniture. Clients are coming around to using black, but honestly, I’ve been pushing the idea for 40 years.
